Dr Michael Reid

Dr Reid graduated in 1982 and spent 16 years in Rural General Practice before entering the sub-specialty area of Skin Cancer Medicine in 2001, when he opened his own full-time dedicated skin cancer clinic in Nelson Bay. Dr Reid also works as a Visiting Medical Officer at the Newcastle Melanoma Unit in the Calvary Mater Hospital in Newcastle. This appointment has been for the past 8 years.Dr Reid is a very experienced skin cancer doctor, using skills gained over the past 14 years by attending several courses in the diagnosis and management of skin cancer (including melanoma). He also teaches medical students and lectures to GPs on the use of dermoscopy (the hand-held microscope used to assist in the diagnosis of skin cancer)
