Matthew Kowalski

Matt grew up in Brisbane and completed his Optometry degree at Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in 2008, graduating with first class honours. He undertook further education in Ocular Therapeutics at QUT in 2012 allowing him to prescribe pharmaceutical eye drops. He has since worked at several optometry practices across Southeast Queensland, as well as a two-year role in rural New Zealand. Matt has a particular interest in helping patients explore all facets of contact lens wear, from the simple to the complicated. He also enjoys keeping up with the latest technology in optometry, from new spectacle lenses to the best equipment to help diagnose eye disease. He prides himself on providing a calm environment for his patients, getting to know them (not just their eyes), and taking the time to explain all of the information they might need clearly and completely. Matt has fond memories of family holidays in the 90s at Alex heads, Maroochy and Maleny, and is delighted to now call the Sunshine Coast home. He enjoys hiking, football/soccer, kayaking and beach walks with his wife Louise (also an optometrist) and their puppy.
