Dr Ayus Kumar attended medical school at the University of New South Wales and graduated in 2017. Since then, he has been gaining experience in all facets of medicine, particularly Paediatrics and Child Health via The Children's Hospital at Westmead for a number of years, and general adult medical training through Royal North Shore and Hornsby Hospitals. He has also completed various locum placements in NSW, such as in Goulburn. He completed the Sydney Child Health Program via the Sydney Children's Hospitals Network. In keeping with his broad fascination with medicine, he is now engaged in General Practice training as a registrar, and is looking forward to bringing his skills to use in providing compassionate and holistic care to the patients in his community.

We are pleased to welcome Dr Majid Sharifian to Key Health Castle Hill, where he joins us on a part-time basis as a General Practitioner and Pain Medicine Fellow, with a special interest in chronic pain management. Dr Sharifian obtained his Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) in 2011, following a decade of experience working as a GP both in Australia and overseas. He has cared for a wide range of patient groups across all areas of general practice, including residents of aged-care facilities, and has also held various hospital-based roles. He is fluent in English, French and Persian. Outside of medicine, he enjoys staying active and plays tennis regularly. In early 2020, Dr Sharifian relocated from Victoria to Queensland to commence Fellowship training in Pain Medicine, and for the past four months he has continued this training in Sydney. We are delighted to have him as part of our team and look forward to the expertise he brings to our patients.

Dr. Therese Roberts completed her medical degree at the University of the New South Wales in the mid-1980s and has worked as a Vocationally Registered General Practitioner in Sydney’s NorthWest for over 30 years. During that time, she has had the privilege of supporting two, three — and sometimes four— generations of a single family group through the provision of comprehensive medical care. In 2008, Tessa became the first General Practitioner to complete the Master of Mental Health (GP) program at the NSW Institute of Psychiatry. She went on to combine her general practice work with an active role at the Institute, where she contributed to the development and delivery of mental health education and the postgraduate program for fellow practitioners. Tessa values the breadth of experience and diversity that general practice offers. She maintains a strong interest in mental health assessment and treatment and is passionate about preventative care, chronic disease management, paediatrics, and women’s health.

Dr Jenahan Shan holds a Bachelor of Medicine (BMed) from the University of Newcastle and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP). He has further attained a Diploma in Child Health (DCH) and a Certificate in Dermoscopy, reflecting his commitment to continuous professional development. With a comprehensive background in general medicine, Dr Shan provides expert clinical care with a strong emphasis on patient-centred treatment and support. His professional interests include skin cancer screening, paediatric health, and preventative medicine, where he applies a proactive and holistic approach to patient wellbeing. In addition to his clinical expertise, Dr Shan is multilingual, offering consultations in both English and Tamil, which enables him to effectively engage with a diverse patient population.
