Dr. Betty Zilka is the Principal Dentist and founder of Petersham Dental Practice. A graduate of the University of Sydney’s Faculty of Dentistry, Dr. Zilka established the practice just a few years after completing her degree, bringing high-quality, patient focused care to the Inner West community. In addition to her dental qualifications, she also holds a second degree in Biochemistry and Microbiology enhancing her scientific understanding and informing her comprehensive approach to oral health. With over four decades of clinical experience, Dr. Zilka is known for her meticulous attention to detail, gentle chairside manner, and commitment to continuing professional development. She offers a full spectrum of dental services, including Preventive Care, Restorative Dentistry, Root Canal Therapy, Cosmetic Treatments, Crowns, Bridges, Dental Implants, and Dentures. Whether it's a routine check-up or a complex dental procedure, Dr. Zilka works closely with her patients to ensure they understand their options and feel confident in their care. Dr. Kathy Ngo is a highly experienced and compassionate general dentist who has been serving the wider Sydney community since 1995. A graduate with Honours from the University of Sydney, Dr. Ngo brings nearly three decades of clinical expertise to Petersham Dental Practice, with particular interests in cosmetic dentistry and paediatric care. Known for her warm, gentle, and intuitive approach, Dr. Ngo is deeply committed to creating a comfortable and reassuring environment for her patients. Her ability to connect with individuals of all ages, especially children and anxious patients, makes her a valued member of our team. Dr. Ngo is passionate about helping her patients achieve optimal oral health through precise diagnosis, comprehensive treatment planning, and high-quality care. She believes in empowering her patients with knowledge and guidance, ensuring they are confident and well-informed about their dental treatment options. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Ngo has contributed to the field through education and service. She has served as a clinical tutor at the University of Sydney and volunteers her time at the Australian Red Cross Clinics, providing essential dental care to asylum seekers and vulnerable populations. She is committed to ongoing professional development and regularly attends continuing education courses to stay at the forefront of modern dentistry. Dr. Bouhabib is an experienced general dentist who graduated from The University of Sydney in 1989. With over three decades of clinical experience, he brings a wealth of knowledge and a gentle, patient-focused approach to dental care. He initially joined Petersham Dental Practice as a locum and, due to his commitment to high-quality care and strong rapport with patients, was soon offered a permanent part-time position. Dr. Bouhabib has now been a valued member of the team for over four years. He enjoys working within a group practice environment, believing that collaboration among colleagues enhances patient outcomes through shared expertise and timely specialist referrals when needed. His approachable nature and dedication to comprehensive care make him a trusted practitioner among patients of all ages. Working part-time allows Dr. Bouhabib to maintain a healthy work-life balance and spend quality time with his wife and two young children. He is actively involved in their schooling and enjoys participating in activities such as classroom reading groups and volunteering at the school canteen.
