He completed his medical degree at The University of Queensland, where he was awarded an Academic Excellence Scholarship, graduating with First Class Honours in 2014. His cardiology training was undertaken through several prominent institutions, including the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, The Prince Charles Hospital, and Sunshine Coast University Hospital, leading to his qualification as a cardiologist in 2021. To further specialize, Dr Lancini completed an international fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology at Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Canada from 2022 to 2024. Under the mentorship of renowned North American electrophysiologists, he gained advanced training in arrhythmia ablation and cardiac device implantation and management. His academic achievements include receiving a Queensland Health Research Fellowship and earning a PhD from The University of Queensland in 2024, focusing on the mechanisms and clinical implications of atrial fibrillation. His research has been published in leading peer-reviewed cardiology journals and presented at top international heart rhythm conferences. Dr Lancini is also an Associate Lecturer at The University of Queensland and actively mentors junior doctors in clinical research. Outside of medicine, Daniel enjoys playing the piano, cooking with his wife Lia, and is currently learning to speak Italian.
